The Grand Pier has been completely rebuilt and is now almost like a mini indoor theme park.
The new owners have done a truly fantastic job. The rides look fabulous and there is a good range of things to do there. There are some of the old traditional machines as you would expect to see on a Pier as well, such as dodgems, Air Hockey and slot machines.
But the Pier has so much more going for it. It has a laser maze, a brand new ghost train, a 4D cinema, a Karting track (set over 2 floors, and cost a million pounds to build) and much more, plus a good selection of food outlets.
The food outlets are good quality and the Tiffany Room at the back is particularly attractive. There is also an old style pub on the Pier which is partly open air and part covered.
The Grand Pier will now be open all year round, not just the summer months like before. There is a covered walkway to protect from bad weather. The Pier is free to walk onto and is a lovely place just to go for a stroll. There is something for everyone and its a great place to visit.
